Easy, Easy, Red Heart Baby Clouds Sweater

 This pattern is so versatile you can use any stitch.  This was the garter st with either knitting all rows or purling (what ever is comfortable to you).  You could add cables or anything you’d like.

 

 

Size: 9-12 months.

 

One 6 oz. skein of “Red Heart Baby Clouds” yarn,

 

US size 10 knitting needles,

 

Back:

 

Cast on 30 sts

Knit or purl all rows until piece Measures 7 in. 

 

Sleeves:

 

On same knitting cast on 15 sts.   Knit or purl across then cast on 15 sts at the end.

Knit or purl each row until sleeve measures 3 ½ in.

 

Neck shaping:

 

Knit or purl 25 sts and put the sts you just did on a stitch holder or another knitting needle.  Cast off next 10 sts.  Knit or purl to the end (there should now only be 25 sts on needle)

 

K or P 23 sts then knit last 2 together (now 24 sts)

Knit or purl across.

Knit or purl across cast on 1 st at the end (25 sts).

Knit or purl across.

Knit or purl across casting on 5 sts at the end (30 sts).

Knit or purl all rows until sleeve measures 7 ½ inches.

Cast off 15 sts and knit or purl to end of row.

 

Front:

 

Knit or purl all rows until front only up to sleeves measures 7 in.

Cast off.

 

Right sleeve:

 

Put stitches from stitch holder or extra needle back on knitting needles and start at neck edge.

 

Knit or purl 2 tog knit or purl to end of row.

Knit or purl across

Cast on 1 st and knit or purl to end of row.

Knit or purl across.

Cast on 5 sts knit or purl across.

Knit or purl all rows until sleeve measures 7 ½ in.

 

Cast off 15 sts and knit or purl across.

 

Right front:

 Knit or purl all rows until front only up to sleeves measures 7 in.

Cast off. Then sew up sides.

To finish you can either add rope ties at neck or buttons.
